This event was very different, they brought the speeds right back with a smaller hill and a set of slalom gates. This really put an emphasis on technique as you might be fast but if you miss a gate or hit a cone the time penalties could cost you the win. Most of the riders have never ridden under these types of conditions before. They had to adapt quickly with only 3 practice runs before their 3 timed runs. This event proved to be a challenge for even the best riders.
The BSL Slalom Challenge was a free event and was open to the public, they welcomed anyone who liked to come and see what the sport of streetluge is all about. It was held at the Nerang Cycle Center and started around 9am.
